The directional normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) was calculated by using field measured spectral data of the winter wheat canopies at the crop different growth and development stages. In the principal plane, the hotspot and directional NDVI were analyzed.

Remote Sensing Letters, 2017
ABSTRACTThis study proposed a new narrow band index to characterize the Cu (Copper) stress degree on vegetation (Copper Stress Vegetation Index, CSVI). Firstly, the spectral reflectance and biochemical data of wheat, pea, locust and ash were analysed using Pearson correlation coefficient (r) to select wavelengths sensitive to Cu stress.

Refinement of Microwave Vegetation Index Using Fourier Analysis for Monitoring Vegetation Dynamics
IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2013Knowledge of the vegetation phenological dynamics is crucial to the understanding of the Earth ecosystems and carbon cycles. A dual-frequency dual-polarization microwave vegetation index (MVI) has been developed recently for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for the Earth Observing System; however, the noisy behavior of MVI limits its ...

The Global Index of Vegetation‐Plot Databases (GIVD): a new resource for vegetation science
Journal of Vegetation Science, 2011AbstractQuestion: How many vegetation plot observations (relevés) are available in electronic databases, how are they geographically distributed, what are their properties and how might they be discovered and located for research and application?Location: Global. Methods: We compiled the Global Index of Vegetation‐Plot Databases (GIVD; http://www ...

Vegetation Index Estimation from Monospectral Images
2018This paper proposes a novel approach to estimate Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) from just the red channel of a RGB image. The NDVI index is defined as the ratio of the difference of the red and infrared radiances over their sum. In other words, information from the red channel of a RGB image and the corresponding infrared spectral band ...
