Is there a close association between "soils" and "vegetation"? : A case study from central western New South Wales [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The assumption that ‘soils’ and ‘vegetation’ are closely associated was tested by describing soils and vegetation along a Travelling Stock Reserve west of Grenfell, New South Wales (lat 33° 55’S, long 147° 45’E). The transect was selected on the basis of

Development of an empirical model for chlorophyll-a and Secchi Disk Depth estimation for a Pampean shallow lake (Argentina) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Shallow Pampean lakes are located in the most productive plain of Argentina. They are highly variable in salinity, turbidity and surface area. Laguna Chascomús has been monitored as a representative example of them.

Inulin‐Based Oral Chemotherapy Modulates Gut Microbiota and Immune Microenvironment through Inhibition of Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation for Improving Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of ZIF‐8@OXA@inulin for cancer immunotherapy. Synthesis of ZIF‐8@OXA@inulin. Augmentation of pyroptosis, regulation of gut microbiota, and inhibition of NETs formation by ZIF‐8@OXA@inulin‐mediated comprehensive strategy for antitumor immune response. ABSTRACT Despite the potential of chemoimmunotherapy against colorectal cancer

Use of consumer-grade cameras to assess wheat N status and grain yield [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Relationships between (a) fractional Intercepted PAR (fIPAR), and (b) aboveground biomass (Biomass) and (c) grain yield at harvest with the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived either from a spectroradiometer or a conventional camera at ...

Water‐Efficient Smart Drip Irrigation Enabled by a Low‐Power and High‐Efficiency Flexible Electromagnetic Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.

FLORISTIC DIVERSITY AND EQUITABILITY IN FOREST FRAGMENTS USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2017
This study aimed to evaluate the predictive efficiency of Shannon index (H’) and Pielou Equitability index (J) in forest fragments from the Brazilian Cerrado biome, from the vegetation indices and landscape metrics using artificial neural networks (ANN)

Comparative Assessment of Broadband Vegetation Indices Over Aquatic Vegetation

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2014
Remote sensing is one of the most useful tools for mapping and studying vegetation because of the advantages of synoptic view (in time and space) compared to traditional in situ survey. Remotely sensed vegetation indices (VIs) derived from airborne and satellite images represent a powerful and effective way to monitor vegetation status, growth, and bio-

GbWAKL20 Phosphorylates GbNFYB8 to Modulate Verticillium Wilt Resistance in Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wall‐associated receptor‐like kinases (WAKLs) play pivotal roles in extracellular–intracellular signal transduction. Upon sensing Verticillium dahliae infestation at the plasma membrane, GbWAKL20 accumulates and transmits signals to the nucleus via endoplasmic reticulum‐mediated Golgi vesicle transport.

Pan2‐Pan3 Complex‐Mediated Deadenylation Enforces mRNA Quality Control for Infection of the Rice Blast Fungus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Discovery that deadenylation, rather than transcription, acts as the rate‐limiting step for developmental timing in a plant pathogen. Evidence that P‐body integrity and mRNA decay are mechanistically coupled to rapid cellular differentiation under environmental stress. Identification of Pan2‐Pan3 as a pathogen‐specific “meta‐virulence factor” absent in
