Vegetative propagation studies of gum arabic trees. 2. The vegetative propagation of adult Acacia senegal [PDF]

open access: yesAgroforestry Systems, 1992
Vegetative propagation of Acacia senegal is possible from branch fragments taken from the crown of mature trees (13 years old), without causing ortet destruction. The most responsive planting stock is taken from cuttings 15 cm long (with 12 to 15 nodes) and a diameter of 10 ± 6 mm (wood of 2 to 4 years old).

Vegetatively propagating forest trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Propagation by seeds gives rise to individuals which are all genetically different from each other. By contrast, asexual or vegetative propagation consists in duplicating, theoretically unlimitedly, genotypes while preserving through mitotic divisions their original genetic make-up, and consequently all their individual characteristics.

Effect of Vegetative Propagation Materials on Globe Artichoke Production in Semi-Arid Developing Countries: Agronomic, Marketable and Qualitative Traits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
: In Tunisia, globe artichoke is mainly propagated by underground dormant axillary buds (ovoli), which are removed from the field in August during the quiescence period. The high cost of in vitro-plants and the absence of specialized nurseries were among

Tissue culture of oil palm : finding the balance between mass propagation and somaclonal variation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is typically propagated in vitro by indirect somatic embryogenesis, a process in which somatic cells of an explant of choice are, via an intermediate phase of callus growth, induced to differentiate into somatic ...

Sustainable use and conservation of Vitex doniana Sweet: unlocking the propagation ability using stem cuttings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
One of the major constraints for domesticating widely used wild tree resources by local communities is the lack of adequate propagation techniques.
