Vehicle to Infrastructure VLC Channel Models
2020 IEEE 91st Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2020-Spring), 2020Self-driving cars have become a popular research topic since the 1990s. Autonomous vehicles significantly benefit from seamless wireless connections between cars or between cars and the infrastructure. Vehicular visible light communications (V-VLC) can be considered as a complementary technology to radio frequency-based (RF-based) communications. V-VLC

On Wireless Links for Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communications
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2010Future intelligent transportation systems (ITS) will necessitate wireless vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. This wireless link can be implemented by several technologies, such as digital broadcasting, cellular communication, or dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) systems.

Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communication
2018Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) provide applications that focus on driver safety, traffic efficiency of vehicles on public roads, and the comfort and entertainment of passengers throughout their journey. Some of these applications require connections to the Internet via an access point (AP) at roadsides, such as a cell tower or Wi-Fi tower.

Geolocation-based Sector Selection for Vehicle-to-Infrastructure 802.11ad Communication
2021 19th Mediterranean Communication and Computer Networking Conference (MedComNet), 2021To improve range, 802.11ad uses directional communication, the first step of which is to choose the best antenna configuration, or sector. We studied the sector selection behavior of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) 802.11ad equipment in an experimental Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication scenario.

Design of Resilient Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Systems
2020Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have recently gained noticeable attention due to advantages in improving road traffic safety, shaping the road traffic and providing infotainment opportunities to travellers. However, transmission characteristics following from the IEEE 802.11p standard and the high mobility of VANET nodes remarkably reduce the ...

V2V2I: Extended inter-vehicles to infrastructure communication paradigm
Global Information Infrastructure Symposium - GIIS 2013, 2013We consider the problem of providing ubiquitous IPv6 Internet connectivity to vehicles compliant with IEEE WAVE standard. In particular, we take advantage of two realistic technology trends. On the one hand, IEEE 802.11p interfaces should be mandatory on the On-Board Units (OBUs) but the Road-Side Units (RSUs) deployment will not be immediate.

Realistic performance model for vehicle-to-infrastructure communications
2014 International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC), 2014This paper introduces extensions of a previously proposed range-dependent modified Gilbert model for generation of realistic error patterns. With the proposed extensions our model can be used to generate signal-to-noise ratio trends corresponding to the error patterns for infrastructure-to-vehicle communications.

Local Peer Groups and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communications
2007 IEEE Globecom Workshops, 2007As the field of active safety vehicle technologies grows, vehicle-to-infrastructure communications will play an important part in distributing safety and other information to a larger area quickly. In this paper, the authors discuss preliminary considerations for roadside interaction with the vehicles in the context of a previously proposed local peer ...
