Data Throughput Optimization for Vehicle to Infrastructure Communications
2018The ultra-high bandwidth available at millimeter (mmWave) and Terahertz (THz) frequencies can effectively realize short-range wireless access links in small cells enabling potential uses such as driver-less cars, ultra-high-definition infotainment services and data backhauling.

IEEE 802.11p vehicle to infrastructure communications in urban environments
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2012The future exploitation of cooperative vehicular services in urban environments, generally characterized by challenging propagation conditions, will require an efficient deployment of roadside units. This article presents the results of an extensive field testing campaign aimed at analyzing the impact of urban characteristics, RSU deployment conditions,

Toward highly automated driving by vehicle-to-infrastructure communications
2015 15th International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems (ICCAS), 2015This paper presents a cooperative system by vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications that extends the range of environmental perception and improves the performance of situation awareness for highly automated driving. The paper consists of two steps: data fusion based situation awareness and distributed reasoning based situation assessment.

2014 International Conference on Connected Vehicles and Expo (ICCVE), 2014
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) operates a test field for cooperative ITS systems using Vehicle-to-X communication. Since a long-term operation is planned several periodic measurements and test drives have to be taken and the measurement data has to be evaluated.

Phased Array Approach for Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communication in Train Stations
2019 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2019This work introduces a new all-in-one system for train-to-infrastructure communication. With respect to typical train conditions a four part concept was developed for the sending/receiving module with focus on beam steering. Together with the simulative safeguarding of this idea, the system was also evaluated in the laboratory.

Optimal roadside unit deployment in vehicle-to-infrastructure communications
2012 12th International Conference on ITS Telecommunications, 2012In vehicular communications, roadside units are the key components to collect/disseminate information from/to vehicles. In this paper we investigate the roadside unit deployment problem in vehicle-to-infrastructure communications. This problem is formulated as a constrained optimization problem with the objective to minimize the deployment cost subject
