Prioritized CSMA Protocol for Roadside-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Systems
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2009<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper proposes Prioritized-CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access) protocol for Japanese vehicle safety communications (VSC). To realize Japanese VSC, we have studied a protocol to carry out Roadside-to-Vehicle (R2V) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications on single channel because a single 10MHz bandwidth ...

Multiple antenna systems for vehicle to vehicle communications
IEEE International Conference on Electro-Information Technology , EIT 2013, 2013In this paper, the use of multiple antenna systems and their impact on improving the capacity and efficiency of vehicular communication systems are investigated through ray-tracing simulation. A total of 15 transmitters and 15 receivers were spread on the rear, center and front of two vehicles, separated by a definite distance.

Limits on Information Transmission in Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication
2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011We investigate limits on information transmission in vehicle-to-vehicle or vehicle-to-mesh communication. We quantify and maximise by appropriate transmit power allocation an upper bound for the amount of information that can be transmitted during the "lifetime" of the channel, whose classical Shannon capacity would be zero.

Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications for Platooning: Safety Analysis
IEEE Networking Letters, 2019Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication is the key technology enabling platooning. This letter proposes an analytical framework that combines the characteristics of V2V communication (packet loss probabilities and packet transmission delays) with the physical mobility characteristics of vehicles (speed, distance between vehicles and their brake ...

Safe Crossroads via Vehicle to Vehicle Communication
2009Driving through crossroads is one of the most dangerous maneuvers. The European community goal of reducing the vehicle accident rate will require a reduction of accidents in crossroads. This paper presents a method of cooperation among vehicles getting into crossroads in order to avoid accidents.
