Hyperballistic Vehicle Dynamics

Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1981
An earlier developed embedded Newtonian theory for prediction of the unsteady aerodynamics of hemisphere-cylinder-flare bodies has been extended to other hyperballistic geometries of general interest. Using generalized embedded Newtonian theory, the effect of Mach number is accounted for down to moderate supersonic speeds.

Multi-parameter optimization based on a surrogate model for improving vehicle dynamics and reducing wheel wear in high-speed EMUs

Vehicle System Dynamics
With the continuous development of China's high-speed railways, the problems of vehicle dynamics and wheel wear in high-speed electric multiple units (EMUs) are becoming increasingly prominent, and the suspension parameters of these vehicles have a ...

Autonomous Vehicle Kinematics and Dynamics Synthesis for Sideslip Angle Estimation Based on Consensus Kalman Filter

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2023
An autonomous vehicle sideslip angle estimation algorithm is proposed based on consensus and vehicle kinematics/ dynamics synthesis. Based on the velocity error measurements between the reduced Inertial Navigation System (R-INS) and the global navigation

End-to-End Neural Network for Vehicle Dynamics Modeling

Colloquium in Information Science and Technology, 2020
Autonomous vehicles have to meet high safety standards in order to be commercially viable. Before real-world testing of an autonomous vehicle, extensive simulation is required to verify software functionality and to detect unexpected behavior.

The Will as a Vehicle of Family Dynamics

The Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, 1986
The will is an instrument of generational transfer and change. In addition to the realistic decision making processes that go into the writing of a will, family dynamics play a role in this deliveration. This paper will describe a family where a surviving parent changed her will since she claimed that two of her three children were not showing her ...

Vehicle dynamics—steering II

Journal of Terramechanics, 1992
Abstract The consistent theme running through the Vehicle Dynamics—Steering sessions at the 1990 ISTVS Conference was more sophisticated analysis applied to off-road vehicle problems. Of particular note was the gradual progress being made with improvements to the modelling of tracked vehicle steering, including some promising work by Ehlert et al ...

Observation of Lateral Vehicle Dynamics

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1996
Abstract By observation of lateral vehicle dynamics the detection of critical driving situations is made possible, as well as the estimation of adhesion characteristics during cornering. This paper presents a comparison of a linear and a nonlinear observer for the vehicle and tyre side-slip angles.

Dynamic vehicle software with AUTOCONT

Proceedings of the 55th Annual Design Automation Conference, 2018
Future automotive software needs to deal with an increasing level of dynamicity, reasoned by the wish for connected driving, software updates, and dynamic feature activation. Such functionalities cannot be properly realized with today's classic AUTOSAR development approach, since it relies on the static configuration of all software units at build time.

Ablation effects on vehicle dynamics

3rd and 4th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1966
The effects of ablation on re-entry body dynamics is a problem that during recent years has advanced from one of general interest to one of general concern. An exploratory analysis shows that ablation will have opposite effects on static and dynamic stability.
