A Risk-Normalized Effectiveness Index for Vehicle Overloading Control

open access: yesEngineering, Technology & Applied Science Research
This study proposes an Effectiveness Index (EI) that integrates inspection coverage, targeting accuracy, and risk derived from Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) data to assess vehicle overloading control. Using data from 6.054.617 vehicles during the observation period from November 2023 to July 2025 in South Sumatra, the index was applied to two enforcement units.

Glycopolymeric nanoparticles transported by activated platelets protect ischemic myocardium by alleviating PANoptosis through targeting macrophage Dectin‐1

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
NP‐SF, designed to target macrophage Dectin‐1 and activated platelets, selectively accumulated in ischemic myocardium, where it was taken up by macrophages after platelet hitchhiking. By inhibiting NLRC5‐related PANoptosis, NP‐SF significantly attenuated pathological damage, and effectively preserved cardiac function in a murine ischemia–reperfusion ...

Back to Nature or Technology to the Rescue? Climate Managers' Preferences for Investment in Carbon Dioxide Removal

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Firms are increasingly looking into carbon dioxide removal (CDR), a set of options to take past emissions of greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere. Often two basic categories of CDR are distinguished: nature‐based solutions, such as planting trees or restoring wetlands, and technology‐based solutions, such as various forms of carbon capture ...

Operations Research‐Based Formalisation and Design of Sustainable Reverse Logistics for E‐Waste Supply Chains

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates how a profitable, lean, and environmentally responsible e‐waste reverse logistics system can be designed using integrated Operations Research (OR) techniques. Addressing the growing urgency of responsible consumption (UN SDG 12) and the projected rise of the e‐waste sector to USD 137.60 billion by 2029, the research ...
