Efficient and Adaptive Autonomous Guidance and Control of Planetary Rover With Improved Traction Controller and Dynamic Cost Map

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Planetary exploration is rapidly gaining importance within the space research community. Autonomous locomotion of rovers requires consideration of several mobility aspects to ensure safety, including avoiding hazardous areas that can cause the robot to become immobilized in soft soil or damaged in sharp terrains.

Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything simulator for urban scenario

open access: yesAITI
The automotive industry is constantly evolving, demanding advanced technologies for growth. Among these is cellular technology's long-term evolution (LTE), which 3GPP is pioneering to provide vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity. It concentrates on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) direct communications, essential for safety applications like traffic ...

Camera traps and deep learning enable efficient large‐scale density estimation of wildlife in temperate forest ecosystems

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
We tested the effect of using a readily available deep learning algorithm for animal species classification on the population density estimates of eight wild mammal species in 10 protected areas (Da). In general, there were no significant differences to the manual estimates (Dm) for all animal species and seasons.

Sliding Doors: Frame Uptake and Rejection by Learners in a Museum‐Based Climate Learning Experience

open access: yesScience Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Science education efforts that support public understanding of modern climate change are critically needed. However, implementing climate‐related learning experiences can be challenging, as public audiences tend to experience a wide range of understandings of and emotions around the issue. In light of these challenges, many scholars have posed

AirV2X: Unified Air-Ground Vehicle-to-Everything Collaboration

open access: yes
While multi-vehicular collaborative driving demonstrates clear advantages over single-vehicle autonomy, traditional infrastructure-based V2X systems remain constrained by substantial deployment costs and the creation of "uncovered danger zones" in rural and suburban areas.

Physical Layer Security Techniques Applied to Vehicle-to-Everything Networks

open access: yesAnais do XLII Simpósio Brasileiro de Telecomunicações e Processamento de Sinais
Physical Layer Security (PLS) is an emerging concept in the field of secrecy for wireless communications that can be used alongside cryptography to prevent unauthorized devices from eavesdropping a legitimate transmission. It offers low computational cost and overhead by injecting an interfering signal in the wiretap channels of potential eavesdroppers.
