On-demand Misbehavior Detection for Vehicular Ad Hoc Network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2016
Maintaining communication links of an established communication path that extends between source and destination nodes is a significant challenge in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks due to movement of the vehicles. Operations of Vehicular Ad Hoc Network rely on

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Distributed Database Systems in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network

open access: yesCommunications, 2010
The article introduces basics of classic Distributed Database System (DDBS) and explains its unsuitability for dynamically changing networks such as Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET). Thus a concept of a new architecture is proposed. This new architecture

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Networking algorithm based on self-organizing map neural network for VANET

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2011
An approach was proposed to apply a self-organizing map neural network to organize vehicular ad hoc net-works,which were used for car driving-aid systems and automatic driverless systems in intelligent transportation area.Based on the location and ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
