SUMO enhancement for vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) simulation

2017 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS), 2017
Vehicles have become a daily needs for all of us and it is normal that every family is having at least one vehicle at their home. This leads to the increased of accidents and vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an approach invented to tackle with this problem. In order to study the algorithm in VANET, a mobility simulator is needed for simulation. SUMO

Issues and possibilities in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs)

2015 International Conference on Computing, Control, Networking, Electronics and Embedded Systems Engineering (ICCNEEE), 2015
Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) has been attracting a lot of attention in wireless communication and automobile industries in the recent years. VANET as a new wireless technology use wireless access devices such as IEEE 802.11p to establish connectivity between vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure.

Generalized Performance Modeling of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs)

2007 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications, 2007
In this paper, we study the statistical properties of the connectivity of VANETs with user mobility at the steady state. We assume a network of highways with arbitrary topology. The nodes arrive at the network through one of the traffic entry points following a Poisson process and move within the network according to a mobility model.

Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs): Architecture, Protocols and Applications

2013
This chapter provides an introduction to and overview of vehicular communications (including vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications, and intelligent transportation systems), covering VANET research areas (such as broadcasting, routing, security, QoS, and MAC), performance metrics for VANET, and the standards DSRC and IEEE 802 ...

VANET-Cloud: Cloud Computing for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

2015
Cloud computing is a network access model that aims to transparently and ubiquitously share a large number of computing resources. These are leased by a service provider to digital customers, usually through the Internet. Due to the increasing number of traffic accidents and dissatisfaction of road users in vehicular networks, the major focus of ...
