RETRACTED ARTICLE: Velocity and shear stress for an Oldroyd-B fluid within two cylinders

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2016
This paper aims to explore the possible solutions for the movement of an Oldroyd-B fluid placed under certain conditions, i.e. the fluid is present within two cylinders, which are coaxial and oscillating within.

Combined prediction model of truck multi-section travel time in open-pit mine based on velocity field

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2022
Due to the complexity of road in open-pit mine, the existing truck travel time prediction methods are difficult in the actual deployment. This leads to the truck optimal scheduling system only realizing scheduling instead of optimization.

Research of the process of air separation of grain material in a vertical zigzag channel [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2023
The aim of the research is to determine ways to improve the efficiency of grain materials pneumatic separation based on the study of the interaction mechanism of grains with the air flow in the channel elements, which are inclined sections of the air ...

VELOCITY FIELD UNDER PLUNGING WAVES

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 1986
In order to clarify the characteristics of the velocity field in the surf zone, three sets of detailed and precise two dimensional laboratory experiments were performed. Spatial distributions and time histories of velocity were measured by using a hot film velocimeter with a split type probe or a two components laser doppler velocimeter for regular ...

Shrinking of Ischia Island (Italy) from Long-Term Geodetic Data: Implications for the Deflation Mechanisms of Resurgent Calderas and Their Relationships with Seismicity

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
The identification of the mechanisms responsible for the deformation of calderas is of primary importance for our understanding of the dynamics of magmatic systems and the evaluation of volcanic hazards.

Energy velocity and reactive fields [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2018
Conventional definitions of ‘near fields’ set bounds that describe where near fields may be found. These definitions tell us nothing about what near fields are, why they exist or how they work. In 1893, Heaviside derived the electromagnetic energy velocity for plane waves.

FIELD MEASUREMENTS OF NEARSHORE VELOCITIES

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 1974
Two component electromagnetic flowmeters are being used as the basis of an apparatus to measure nearshore velocities on natural beaches. The flowmeters are mounted on free standing tripods, 1 m. base side and 0.3 m. high, to measure the two components of horizontal flow, and have been used in depths of up to 4 m. and up to 150 m.

Velocity statistics from spectral line data: effects of density-velocity correlations, magnetic field, and shear [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In a previous work Lazarian and Pogosyan suggested a technique to extract velocity and density statistics, of interstellar turbulence, by means of analysing statistics of spectral line data cubes.

Exact solutions for the longitudinal flow of a generalized Maxwell fluid in a circular cylinder

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2010
This paper deals with the longitudinal flow of a generalized Maxwell fluid in an infinite circular cylinder, due to the longitudinal variable time-dependent shear stress that is prescribed on the boundary of the cylinder. The fractional calculus approach
