Magnetic resonance velocity mapping of normal human transmitral velocity profiles

Heart and Vessels, 1995
We used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) velocity mapping to assess the velocity profile of early diastolic mitral inflow in 11 normal subjects. Velocity maps of left ventricular inflow were obtained in the horizontal long axis of the left ventricle at the time of peak early diastolic filling.

Ultrasonic velocity profiler for very low velocity field

Flow Measurement and Instrumentation, 2013
Abstract An ultrasonic velocity profile measurement system has been realized that can measure velocities in a very slow flow. The system implements a novel phase difference method that overcomes the low velocity limitation in a conventional signal processing algorithm for the Doppler method.

Peaked velocity profile generation

The Aeronautical Journal, 1982
Morgan and Saunders have shown that highly peaked velocity profiles can be produced in a pipe downstream of a partial gauze screen, a screen pierced by a central hole. By systematically varying the ratio of hole size, d, to pipe diameter, D they obtained peaked profiles with different values of profile peakiness û/ū.The investigation showed that two ...

Velocity Profiles In Perforated Completions

Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 1991
Abstract The productivity of perforated completions is greatly reduced when fines ace mobilized causing particles to plug pore throats within a formation. Even in clean sands, relatively large quantities of particulate matter are present Mobilization of these fines occurs as fluid velocities exceed critical levels ...

The urban wind velocity profile

Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1971
Abstract An experimeatal method and analytical procedures which allow a captive balloon to be used as an instrument support for wind and other meteorological measurements above an urban area have been developed, and their use to make measurements of the average wind speed and temperature at heights up to 1000 ft at two urban sites is described.

Intersecting Submerged Jet Velocity Profiles

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1982
To gather experimental evidence on the details of the velocity field near the intersection of two submerged turbulent jets, this study measured time average velocity magnitudes and directions of two perpendicular interesting axisymmetric submerged turbulent incompressible air jets of approximately equal strength.

VELOCITY PROFILES WITH SUSPENDED SEDIMENT

Journal of Hydraulic Research, 1981
Analysis of velocity profiles plotted in defect form indicates that the Karman coefficient is independent of the amount of suspended sediment in an open channel flow.
