Integrated gross and microanatomical analysis of the periportal lymphatic system in human liver
Abstract Background Although animal studies have indicated that the periportal lymphatic system is an important intrahepatic lymphatic route, detailed human studies are scarce. We studied the lymphatic pathways and dynamics around Glisson's capsule in human livers. Methods We performed whole‐mount immunostaining for the liver using podoplanin and CD‐31

3D mapping of phrenic nerve course for radiofrequency pulmonary vein isolation
Abstract Introduction Phrenic nerve (PN) injury is a rare but severe complication of radiofrequency (RF) pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). The objective of this study was to characterize the typical intracardiac course of the PN with a three‐dimensional electroanatomic mapping system, to quantify the need for modification of the ablation trajectory to ...

Enstrophy and Ergodicity of Gravity Currents [PDF]
We study a coupled deterministic system of vorticity evolution and salinity transport equations, with spatially correlated white noise on the boundary. This system may be considered as a model for gravity currents in oceanic fluids. The noise is due to uncertainty in salinity flux on fluid boundary.

Intravenous leiomyomatosis of the uterus with extension to the right heart [PDF]
A 42-year-old woman admitted with debilitation and engorgement both lower extremities. Transthoracic two-dimensional echocardiography, abdominal ultrasound and computerized tomography revealed a lobulated pelvic mass, a mass within right internal iliac ...

Abstract Objectives Assessment of small bowel involvement when diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) delineates clinical subtype and disease extension. The gold standard for small bowel assessment is magnetic resonance enterography (MRE), but MRE is not always feasible for children.

On the number of monochromatic solutions of integer linear systems on Abelian groups [PDF]
Let $G$ be a finite abelian group with exponent $n$, and let $r$ be a positive integer. Let $A$ be a $k\times m$ matrix with integer entries. We show that if $A$ satisfies some natural conditions and $|G|$ is large enough then, for each $r$--coloring of $G\setminus \{0\}$, there is $\delta$ depending only on $r,n$ and $m$ such that the homogeneous ...

Successful Treatment for Hepatic Encephalopathy Aggravated by Portal Vein Thrombosis with Balloon-Occluded Retrograde Transvenous Obliteration [PDF]
This report presents the case of a 78-year-old female with hepatic encephalopathy due to an inferior mesenteric venous-inferior vena cava shunt. She developed hepatocellular carcinoma affected by hepatitis C virus-related cirrhosis and underwent ...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives This study evaluates the prognostic value of venous tumor thrombus (VTT) in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) undergoing radical resection and inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombectomy. Methods Retrospective review of patients with radical nephrectomy for RCC and associated VTT (2000−2024).

On the removal lemma for linear configurations in finite abelian groups [PDF]
We present a general framework to represent discrete configuration systems using hypergraphs. This representation allows one to transfer combinatorial removal lemmas to their analogues for configuration systems. These removal lemmas claim that a system without many configurations can be made configuration-free by removing a few of its constituent ...
