Inferior vena cava thrombosis [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2013
A 56-year-old woman presented to Accident and Emergency with a gradual onset shortness of breath and pleuritic chest pain. D-dimer was elevated at 3.43 mg/l, electrocardiography showed sinus tachycardia and chest x-ray was normal. CT pulmonary angiography performed on admission showed the presence of a subsegmental pulmonary embolism in the right ...

Conversion of Transplanted Mature Hepatocytes into Afp+ Reprogrammed Cells for Liver Regeneration After Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Donor‐derived tdTomato+ mature hepatocytes were FACS‐isolated and transplanted into Fah−/− host mice. During regeneration, these cells convert into proliferative, unipotent Afp+ rHeps. Their plasticity is governed by a PPARγ/AFP‐dependent metabolic switch, segregating into pro‐proliferative Afplow and pro‐survival Afphigh subpopulations.

Targeted Mitochondrial ECSIT Overexpression Attenuates MASH by Increasing OTUD3 Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial ECSIT expression is reduced during MASH pathogenesis. Overexpression of mitochondrial ECSIT mitigates steatohepatitis and maintains hepatic metabolic homeostasis. Mechanistically, ECSIT enhances intramitochondrial OTUD3 expression to stabilize SIRT3 through deubiquitination, thus preserving mitochondrial function and impeding disease ...

Successful ablation of atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia in a patient with interruption of inferior vena cava and azygos continuation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Congenital anomalies of the venous system are a challenge for cardiac catheterization and radiofrequency ablation. This article describes ablation of atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia performed solely through the azygos continuation in a ...

Multimodal Layer‐Crossing Interrogation of Brain Circuits Enabled by Microfluidic Axialtrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study introduces a flexible microfluidic axialtrode that integrates optical, electrical, and chemical modalities within a single polymer fiber. By redistributing electrodes and fluidic channels along the fiber axis via angled cleaving, it enables simultaneous optogenetic stimulation, electrophysiological recording, and drug delivery across brain ...
