MRI‐based quantification of whole‐organ renal metabolic rate of oxygen during free‐breathing
Abstract Purpose Renal metabolic rate of oxygen (rMRO2) reflects the kidney's metabolic efficiency, making it a potential biomarker for early‐stage kidney disease. This study introduces an ungated, free‐breathing MRI sequence in comparison to its breath‐hold counterpart to noninvasively measure whole‐organ rMRO2.

Measurement and interpretation of central venous pressure: a narrative review
Summary Introduction Central venous pressure has been a key component of haemodynamic monitoring for several decades, but its clinical utility is still debated. While central venous pressure has been used traditionally to assess intravascular volume status and fluid responsiveness, mounting evidence suggests that its absolute value alone is an ...

ABSTRACT Background Primary aldosteronism (PA) is a prevalent yet frequently underdiagnosed cause of secondary hypertension, affecting up to 10% of hypertensive individuals and contributing to increased cardiovascular risk. Accurate diagnosis is vital, as unilateral PA cases typically require surgical intervention, while bilateral disease is managed ...

A Novel Technique for Diaphragmatic Compound Motor Action Potential Monitoring Using the BeeAT Catheter During Cryoballoon Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation. [PDF]
Compound motor action potential (CMAP) signals were sharp and stable, with minimal pacing artifacts and far‐field ventricular waves. Diaphragmatic CMAP monitoring using a BeeAT catheter positioned in the subdiaphragmatic inferior vena cava appears to offer a feasible and effective approach during cryoballoon ablation.

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

ABSTRACT In areas where hydatid disease is endemic, hydatid cyst embolism should be recognized as a rare but important differential diagnosis in young patients presenting with stroke. Awareness of this potential etiology is essential for early detection, timely intervention, and prevention of severe neurological complications. Cardiac hydatid cysts are

ABSTRACT Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that primarily affects the lungs and can pose diagnostic challenges to physicians. This case report discusses a 23‐year‐old male who initially presented with signs suggestive of lung carcinoma. A pleural biopsy done confirmed a TB‐related right pleura necrotizing granuloma that responded well to anti‐TB ...

ABSTRACT Tricuspid atresia (TA) with transposition of the great arteries (TGA) without pulmonary obstruction is a rare type of TA that delays diagnosis due to late onset of cyanosis, which delays surgery, as timely surgical interventions have contributed to converting the high mortality rate into a high survival rate.
