Exercise modality‐dependent mitochondrial respiratory capacity in satellite cells and conditioned serum‐induced responses in cultured myotubes

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 1, Page 226-239, 1 January 2026.
Abstract Exercise‐induced mitochondrial adaptations contribute to muscle function and metabolic health. We aimed to investigate the association of moderate‐intensity swimming (MOD) and high‐intensity interval training (HIIT) with mitochondrial function in skeletal muscle cells treated with exercise‐conditioned serum.

Coagulating activity of the blood, vascular wall, and myocardium under hypodynamia conditions [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to study the effects of hypodynamia on the coagulating properties of the blood, vascular wall, and myocardium, chinchilla rabbits were kept for varying periods in special cages which restricted their movements.

Surgical Correction of Pulmonary Stenosis Using Beating‐Heart Cardiopulmonary Bypass in a Dog With Persistent Left Cranial Vena Cava

open access: yesCase Reports in Veterinary Medicine, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
A 7‐month‐old female toy poodle was referred for corrective surgery of pulmonary stenosis with persistent left cranial vena cava (PLCVC). Thoracic radiographs showed right heart enlargement. Echocardiography revealed moderate right ventricular hypertrophy and severe pulmonic stenosis with PLCVC.

Diuretic Response Prediction With MELD Score in Heart Failure

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 48, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Heart failure (HF) is still an important disease with high mortality rates worldwide. HF treatment is also difficult due to different phenotypes. Diuretic response (DR) is one of the main differences across these subgroups. Novel urinary parameters are used for DR prediction.

Hemodynamics in femoro-femoral venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation using large eddy simulations

open access: yesScientific Reports
Venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is used for support in refractory severe respiratory failure. Venous drainage and return are accomplished through cannulation of patient’s major veins, typically on the neck and/or the groins ...

Estudo da resposta tissular à endoprótese recoberta de jugular bovina em veia cava inferior de suínos Bovine jugular covered stent-graft implanted in swine inferior vena cava - a study of tissue response

open access: yesJornal Vascular Brasileiro, 2006

Pulmonary ultrasound provides a more accurate assessment of pulmonary congestion than wet/dry lung weight in rats

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 13, Issue 23, December 2025.
Graphical abstract illustrating the experimental rat model of oleic acid‐induced lung injury and the comparative assessment of pulmonary congestion using lung ultrasound (B‐lines), wet/dry lung weight ratio, and Evans Blue Dye quantification. Lung ultrasound demonstrated increased diagnostic accuracy and enables longitudinal monitoring of pulmonary ...
