Fulminantne müokardiit. Haigusjuht ja kirjanduse ülevaade [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Müokardiit on heterogeenne haigus nii etioloogia kui ka kliinilise kulu poolest. Haiguse aluseks on põletikuline südamelihase kahjustus, mis kulgeb ägeda, enamasti taaspöörduva sündroomina.

Administration of Nebulized Nitroglycerin Inhalation Combined With Subarachnoid Anesthesia for Cesarean Delivery With Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT In patients with severe pulmonary hypertension, nebulized nitroglycerin inhalation combined with subarachnoid anesthesia is a safe anesthetic option for cesarean section. It maintains stable hemodynamics and, by decreasing pulmonary artery pressure, prevents right heart failure.

Combined venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and transcatheter aortic valve implantation for the treatment of acute aortic prosthesis dysfunction in a high-risk patient

open access: yesRevista Portuguesa de Cardiologia, 2016
We describe the case of a patient with acute bioprosthesis dysfunction in cardiogenic shock, in whom hemodynamic support was provided by venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and successfully treated by transcatheter aortic valve implantation.

Hemodynamic monitoring in patients with venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation

open access: yesAnnals of Translational Medicine, 2020
Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) is an effective mechanical circulatory support modality that rapidly restores systemic perfusion for circulatory failure in patients. Given the huge increase in VA-ECMO use, its optimal management depends on continuous and discrete hemodynamic monitoring.

Analysis of outcomes in patients with HeartMate 3 with and without right ventricular assist device support

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 5, Page 3306-3319, October 2025.
Temporary RVAD support following HM3 LVAD is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Temporary RVAD support occurs most frequently in INTERMACS 1 or 2 patients and those who require pre‐operative VA‐ECMO. In addition to higher post‐operative mortality, a significantly higher risk of both dialysis and stroke at 1 year post‐implant was observed in ...

SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT OF A RECIPIENT WITH MASSIVE THROMBOSIS OF HEART TRANSPLANT LEFT CHAMBERS DURING EXTRACORPOREAL MEMBRANE OXYGENATION

open access: yesВестник трансплантологии и искусственных органов, 2016
We present a case report of a 16-year-old man with venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) for primary graft failure after orthotopic heart transplantation who developed left atrium and left ventricular thrombosis despite systemic ...

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for severe respiratory failure in newborn infants. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
BACKGROUND: Neonatal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a complex procedure of life support used in severe but potentially reversible respiratory failure in term infants.

ECMO‐Assisted Da Vinci Robotic Surgery for Pheochromocytoma‐Induced Acute Catecholamine Cardiomyopathy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Pheochromocytoma, an uncommon neuroendocrine neoplasm, has the potential to precipitate acute catecholamine cardiomyopathy (ACIC), a perilous condition characterized by cardiogenic shock and the failure of multiple organ systems. The significance of early diagnosis and the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach are paramount for ...

Successful Treatment of Large Left Ventricular Thrombosis During Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO): A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
We report a rare complication of left ventricular giant thrombus in a patient with fulminant myocarditis after venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy.
