While used less frequently than arterial access procedures, venous access alone or in combination with arterial access can effectively address various vascular problems. Steps unique to venous navigation are described. Conditions such as cranial sinus thrombosis, arteriovenous fistulae, carotid cavernous fistulae, and arteriovenous malformations can be

Radiology, 1951
Cerebral Angiography by the injection of contrast medium into the carotid or vertebral arteries provides an adequate and dependable method for the demonstration of the intracranial arterial system. As a result of many detailed studies, the variations of the arterial system of the brain both in the normal and in the diseased state are now well ...

The British Journal of Radiology, 1953
A routine method of ascending venography of the lower limb, capable of demonstrating the presence or absence of functioning valves in the deep veins, is described. The technique is given in detail. One rapid and one slow injection of contrast medium are given. Optimum timing for the radiographic exposures has been evolved.

The Practical Uses of Venography
The British Journal of Radiology, 19531. The clinical problem of varicose veins and so-called varicose ulcers is discussed. 2. The relationship of many of these ulcers to previous deep thrombosis is stressed and the evolution of the post-thrombotic leg from the acute stage to the chronic stage with central recanalised vein is illustrated. 3.

VENOGRAPHY OF THE EXTREMITIES AND PELVIS
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America, 1993The ability of MR imaging to depict flow coupled with the inherent soft tissue contrast available on MR images has propelled this modality into the forefront of diagnostic imaging. The precise clinical utility of MR angiography is still in evolution; therefore, this article focuses on practical approaches to assessing the venous system of the ...
