Extremely Extensive Vascular Malformation Requires Special Preparation for Simple Dental Surgical Procedures—Case Report

open access: yesDentistry Journal
Background/Objectives: Vascular anomalies represent a complex group of conditions including vascular malformations and haemangiomas. Haemangiomas are benign tumours that have an endothelial origin. In contrast, vascular malformations are characterized by

Enophthalmos caused by an orbital venous malformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Orbital vascular malformations usually present with proptosis. We report a case where a patient with an orbital venous malformation presented with enophthalmos.

Mechanically Robust Biodegradable Stents With Theragenerative Vascular Responses via Combined 3D Printing and Janus Nanoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a theragenerative 3D‐printed biodegradable stent with Janus nanoarchitecture for spatially controlled vascular healing. A luminal tantalum ion–implanted surface accelerates endothelialization and hemocompatibility, while an abluminal sirolimus/poly‐L‐lactic acid–tantalum layer provides sustained drug release and suppresses smooth ...

Tumor‐Induced Splenic Remodeling: Mechanisms of Systemic Immunosuppression and Emerging Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the transformative impact of cancer immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint blockade, durable clinical responses remain limited. Increasing evidence indicates that antitumor immunity is governed not only by the tumor microenvironment, but also by systemic immune regulation mediated by peripheral immune organs. Among these, the spleen

Soft and Adhesive Cardiac Patch for Electrophysiological and Contraction Measurement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed an epicardial electronic patch with a modulus similar to that of the heart (approximately 65kPa), which can collect stable electrocardiogram signals and myocardial contractility on the surface of a dynamically beating heart. This is attributed to the hydrogen bond interaction formed between the amino and catechol groups in the ...

Venous malformation with multiple phleboliths:A case report

open access: yes, 2017
Venous malformations are congenital, abnormally formed vessels, present at birth. They do not undergo regression with the growth of the patient. Due to the stagnation of blood flow in venous malformations, thrombosis and phlebolith formation may occur ...

Sono‐Mechanogenetics: Linking Ultrasound Physics With Cellular Mechanobiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sono‐mechanogenetics links ultrasound physics with cellular mechanotransduction to enable noninvasive control of engineered biological systems. Acoustic forces generate distinct deformation modes that activate intracellular signaling pathways, which can be coupled to synthetic gene circuits to regulate diverse cellular functions, including gene ...

Bamboo‐Like Whiskers‐Reinforced Bioceramics Accelerate Large Segmental Bone Regeneration via Dual Modulation of Type‐H Vessels and Osteoinduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract image of bamboo‐like whisker‐reinforced Ca‐P bioceramics accelerating large segmental bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Regenerative repair of segmental bone defect remains a major clinical challenge. The conventional mental implants suffer from mechanical strength mismatch and long‐term foreign bodies presence.

Dual‐Network Protein Hydrogels Promote Rapid Hemostasis and Immune‐Regulated Scarless Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐network protein hydrogel substantially improves hemostasis and scar‐free healing. The adaptive network maintains intimate tissue contact while providing strong wet adhesion, tunable mechanics, and controlled degradation. Concurrent ROS scavenging and M2 polarization suppress fibrotic pathways, preventing scar formation.
