UFL1‐Mediated UFMylation of ENO1 Restrains Aerobic Glycolysis and Colorectal Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
UFMylation restrains aerobic glycolysis and colorectal cancer progression by modifying the glycolytic enzyme ENO1. Pharmacological enhancement of the UFL1–ENO1 interaction by the FDA‐approved antibiotic torezolid promotes ENO1 UFMylation, suppresses tumor metabolism, and sensitizes colorectal cancer to chemotherapy, revealing an actionable metabolic ...

Simulation of displacement ventilation and radiative cooling

open access: yes, 1993
For thermal comfort and energy conservation reasons, displacement ventilation and radiative cooling systems are increasingly used. Simulation programs are general not able to correctly simulate such systems because of their one node approach for the air ...

Physics‐Aware Machine‐Learning‐Driven Inverse Design of Broadband Ultra‐Open Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐aware machine‐learning framework enables inverse design of ultra‐open acoustic silencers by decoupling spectral and radial design spaces. The approach rapidly identifies broadband, compact, and highly ventilated architectures, while revealing hidden linear design rules that link geometry, impedance matching, and acoustic performance.

Advancing Energy Efficiency in Smart Windows via Dual‐Responsive Electro‐Thermochromism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A durable and stable quasi‐solid‐state electro‐thermal dual‐responsive photothermal regulation device has been employed in advanced energy‐efficient smart windows. The devised device not only incorporates a thermochromic hydrogel characterized by high ionic conductivity, high optical transmittance, and a low LCST, but also comprises an electrochromic ...

Evaluation of the optimum conditions for a local ventilation system in connection with the mine ventilation network [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the First International Conference on Underground Mining Technology, 2017
In a single working face in an underground mine, a single duct and a booster fan are installed to provide fresh air to the working face for local ventilation. Since this local ventilation is provided in conjunction with the entire ventilation network of the mine, its performance and resulting environment depend on the conditions of air intake and ...

Conditionally Significant eQTL and TWAS Analyses Identify MsRD26 as a Major Candidate Positive Regulator of Salt Tolerance in Medicago sativa L

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt stress significantly impacts plant growth. Through population transcriptome, eQTL and TWAS analyses, we identified several candidate genes potentially associated with salt stress response. Functional assays suggested that some of these genes may contribute to salt tolerance.

Randomized crossover comparison of proportional assist ventilation and patient-triggered ventilation in extremely low birth weight infants with evolving chronic lung disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background: Refinement of ventilatory techniques remains a challenge given the persistence of chronic lung disease of preterm infants. Objective: To test the hypothesis that proportional assist ventilation ( PAV) will allow to lower the ventilator ...
