Presently ventilation problems are becoming the key problems restricting the development of long highway tunnels greatly. Some long highway tunnels have considerable complicated structures of ventilation network, thus to calculate the ventilation system with the traditional ventilation analytical method becomes difficult.

Calculation method for the unsteady air supply in mine ventilation networks
Journal of Mining Science, 2011The problem on one-dimensional unsteady compressed air flow in an arbitrary topology mine is solved using a mathematical model, including one-dimensional equations and pressure-velocity continuity condition, the method of characteristics, difference scheme and the AEROSET software.

Calculating Shock Losses in Mine Ventilation Networks
2018In this paper, we investigate the relative contribution of shock losses to the total pressure drop in a mine ventilation network. It is shown that for a specific class of mines it is necessary to consider the shock losses of mine airway junctions. This class includes mines with large airway cross-sectional areas and extended work areas.

There are no special difficulties in solving network ventilation problems with the aid of computing techniques. A large number of methods has been devised for solving them with computers and analog machines; these have often been surveyed in the Soviet literature and therefore we shall not discuss them here. We will describe the need for devising a new

Topology theory of mine ventilation network [PDF]
Topological theory of ventilation network is the basis of mine ventilation simulation system. But there still exists disparity and insufficiency between theory and application. On the basis of in-depth study of ventilation network topological theory, the
