A New Method for Determining Outdoor Humidity Ratio of Natatorium in Transition Season
The natatorium’s ventilation problem receives much concern because of its large wet load. The outdoor humidity ratio in transition season is the basic design parameter of the ventilation calculation, directly affecting the rationality of architectural ...

Increased Natural Ventilation Flow Rates through Ventilation Shafts [PDF]
AbstractBuoyancy-driven natural ventilation in ventilation shafts is investigated with a small scale physical experiment within a duct and CFD simulations of an office building. For a fixed exhaust opening, smaller shafts lead to higher flow rates in upper floors of a multi-storey building with a shared ventilation shaft.

Retention of mouth-to-mouth, mouth-to-mask and mouth-to-face shield ventilation [PDF]
Background: Retention of mouth-to-mouth, mouth-to-mask and mouth-to-face shield ventilation techniques is poorly understood. Methods: A prospective randomised clinical trial was undertaken in January 2004 in 70 candidates randomly assigned to training in ...

It’s In The Bag: Tidal Volumes in Adult and Pediatric Bag Valve Masks [PDF]
Introduction: A bag valve mask (BVM) is a life saving device used by all levels of health care professionals during resuscitative care. We focus most of our time optimizing the patient’s position, firmly securing the mask, and frequency of ventilations ...

Inhaled particle counts on bicycle commute routes of low and high proximity to motorised traffic [PDF]
Frequent exposure to ultrafine particles (UFP) is associated with detrimental effects on cardiopulmonary function and health. UFP dose and therefore the associated health risk are a factor of exposure frequency, duration, and magnitude of (therefore also

Evaluating single-sided natural ventilation models against full-scale idealised measurements: impact of wind direction and turbulence [PDF]
Commonly single-sided natural ventilation is used in temperate climates to provide comfortable and healthy indoor environments. However, within built-up areas it is difficult to predict natural ventilation rates for buildings as they depend on many flow ...
