Measurement and Analysis of Winter Thermal Environment in Xi’an Metro 0.4 kV Switchgear Room

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
ObjectiveThe air conditioning/ventilation system in metro equipment rooms, such as 0.4 kV switchgear room, is prone to energy waste. The thermal environment in the equipment rooms not only directly affects the stable operation of equipment such as ...

Combating VEGFA‐siRNA‐Induced Metabolic Reprogramming via Glucose Utilization Deprivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ionizable lipid nanoparticle co‐delivers VEGFA siRNA and glucose oxidase to tumors to counteract VEGFA knockdown‐induced, glutamine‐driven metabolic compensation. Enzymatic glucose consumption reverses the adaptive pathways and restores metabolism toward baseline, thereby sensitizing tumors to therapy.

VOC concentrations in houses in Japan: correlations with housing characteristics and types of ventilation

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can cause health problems for residents and are one of the causes of sick building syndrome. Therefore, this study measured VOCs in 116 houses in the winter and 66 in the summer in Japan, including detached and apartment

Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Senolytic Therapy as a Preventive Strategy for Spine Degeneration and Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cellular senescence promotes inflammation, tissue degeneration, and chronic back pain. In sparc‐null mice, early oral administration of the senolytic agents o‐vanillin and RG‐7112 reduced senescent cell burden and pro‐inflammatory SASP signaling across intervertebral discs, endplates, vertebral bone, and spinal cord.

The Nordic Ventilation System — An Overview

open access: yes, 2019
This paper describes the ventilation system used in underground hard rock mines in Sweden and Finland, which is very different than the system used in other major mining countries such as Australia, Canada, South Africa, and USA.
