A novel inhaled anesthesia technique for concurrent direct laryngoscopy in rats
Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView. Our novel nose cone anesthetic technique allows the use of gas anesthesia during concurrent direct laryngoscopy. Inhaled anesthesia not only has a better safety profile for rats, but also increases lab efficiency when compared to injectable anesthesia. Abstract

Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView. This study compared a simplified rat ex vivo lung perfusion model with single‐artery inflow and passive vein drainage to the traditional dual‐catheter closed‐loop system. Abstract Background
Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) has emerged as a critical technique for lung preservation and evaluation prior to transplantation.Ming Ni, Fei Xue, Xuanpeng Wu, Chenxi Li, Shuhao Liang, Tianhao Chen, Leyu Hong, Chao Luo, Tong Liu, Jingyao Zhang, Chang Liu, Qifei Wu +11 morewiley +1 more sourceAnimal models of benign airway stenosis: Advances in construction techniques, evaluation systems, and perspectives
Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.Currently, the animals commonly used to establish animal models of benign airway stenosis (BAS) include mice, rats, pigs, dogs, rabbits, and ferrets. The establishment methods involve one or a combination of two methods such as mechanical injury, tracheal cautery, cuff overpressure intubation, laser injury, and endoscopic silver nitrate cauterization ...Wusheng Zhang, Yilin Chen, Chengcheng Yang, Yuchao Dong, Haidong Huang, Hui Shi, Chong Bai +6 morewiley +1 more sourceNebulized aminoglycosides for ventilator-associated pneumonia: Methodological considerations and lessons from experimental studies

Annals of Neurology, EarlyView.Objective
In this population‐based study, we described the epidemiology of primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) in northern Italy and compared the clinical characteristics of patients with PLS to those with predominant upper motor neuron (PUMN) involvement and classic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).Rosario Vasta, Enrico Matteoni, Giorgio Pellegrino, Antonio Canosa, Umberto Manera, Francesca Palumbo, Maurizio Grassano, Sara Cabras, Alessandra Maccabeo, Fabrizio D'Ovidio, Gabriele Mora, Salvatore Gallone, Elisa D'Angelo, Letizia Mazzini, Fabiola De Marchi, Cristina Moglia, Adriano Chiò, Andrea Calvo +17 morewiley +1 more sourceRMS: a ML-based system for ICU respiratory monitoring and resource planning. Annals of Neurology, EarlyView. Objective
Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) is a devastating consequence of some generalized convulsive seizures (GCS). Recent work has focused on seizure related apnea as a biomarker of SUDEP risk, frequently without characterizing the adequacy of non‐apneic ventilation or identifying other dysfunctional breathing patterns.Haley E.
