AbstractHernia repairs are amongst the most common procedures performed in surgical practice. Over 600,000 repairs are performed annually in the United States alone, of which about 175,000 are for ventral hernias. Despite their sheer numbers, cases exhibit a wide variability in morphology and clinical presentation.
