MMP9High Neutrophils are Critical Mediators of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation and Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

Mitigating Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiotoxicity and Enhancing Anti‐Tumor Efficacy with a Metformin‐Integrated Self‐Assembled Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel self‐assembled nanomedicine (PMDDH) has been developed for the co‐delivery of doxorubicin and metformin, aiming to enhance the anti‐tumor efficacy of doxorubicin while alleviating its cardiotoxicity through the activation of cGAS‐STING and AMPK signaling pathways, respectively.

Clinical overview on RASopathies

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, Volume 190, Issue 4, Page 414-424, December 2022., 2022
Abstract RASopathies comprise a group of clinically overlapping developmental disorders caused by genetic variations affecting components or modulators of the RAS‐MAPK signaling cascade, which lead to dysregulation of signal flow through this pathway.

Opportunities and Challenges in Catheter-Based Irreversible Electroporation for Ventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesPathophysiology
The use of catheter-based irreversible electroporation in clinical cardiac laboratories, termed pulsed-field ablation (PFA), is gaining international momentum among cardiac electrophysiology proceduralists for the non-thermal management of both atrial ...

Silicon Enhances Functional Mitochondrial Transfer to Improve Neurovascularization in Diabetic Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings reveal that silicon exerts strong protective effects in diabetic bone defect models by selectively promoting Drp1‐Mff activity. Silicon facilitates precise regulation of mitochondrial dynamics to enable functional mitochondrial transfer.

Infantile epileptic spasms syndrome in children with cardiofaciocutanous syndrome: Clinical presentation and associations with genotype

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, Volume 190, Issue 4, Page 501-509, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Gene variants that dysregulate signaling through the RAS‐MAPK pathway cause cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFCS), a rare multi‐system disorder. Infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS) and other forms of epilepsy are among the most serious complications.
