Premature MicroRNA-1 Expression Causes Hypoplasia of the Cardiac Ventricular Conduction System. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Mammalian cardiac Purkinje fibers (PFs) are specified from ventricular trabecular myocardium during mid-gestation and undergo limited proliferation before assuming their final form.

Application of Fractional Derivatives in Characterization of ECG graphs of Right Ventricular Hypertrophy Patients [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
There are many functions which are continuous everywhere but non-differentiable at some or all points such functions are termed as unreachable functions. Graphs representing such unreachable functions are called unreachable graphs. For example, ECG is such an unreachable graph.

Gender differences in cardiac left ventricular mass and function: clinical and experimental observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate gender-associated impact on left ventricular mass (LVM) and on left ventricular function (LVF) in humans and rats with aging. Methods: Myocyte area and collagen volume fraction (CVF) were studied in rats.

Injectable pH Responsive Conductive Hydrogel for Intelligent Delivery of Metformin and Exosomes to Enhance Cardiac Repair after Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Injectable pH responsive conductive hydrogel for intelligent delivery of metformin and exosomes to alleviate myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury. The hydrogel responds to the weakly acidic microenvironment of ischemic injury and can significantly reduce the production of intracellular ROS and enhance cardiac conduction, thereby resisting apoptosis ...

DNA‐PKcs‐Driven YAP1 Phosphorylation and Nuclear Translocation: a Key Regulator of Ferroptosis in Hyperglycemia‐Induced Cardiac Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.
