Perioperative anesthetic management of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy for noncardiac surgery: A case series

open access: yesAnnals of Cardiac Anaesthesia, 2010
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with or without left ventricular outflow tract obstruction is characterized by asymmetric hypertrophy of the interventricular septum causing intermittent obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract.

Incidental Finding of Isolated Accessory Mitral Valve Tissue in Two Adults

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
Accessory mitral valve tissue is a rare congenital anomaly often linked to the anterior mitral leaflet, diagnosed via echocardiography. It may cause left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, with prognosis depending on obstruction severity and regular ...

Lineage labeling with zebrafish hand2 Cre and CreERT2 recombinase CRISPR knock‐ins

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The ability to generate endogenous Cre recombinase drivers using CRISPR‐Cas9 knock‐in technology allows lineage tracing, cell type‐specific gene studies, and in vivo validation of inferred developmental trajectories from phenotypic and gene expression analyses. This report describes endogenous zebrafish hand2 Cre and CreERT2 drivers

Embryonic cerebrospinal fluid pressure in fetal mice in utero: External factors pressurize the intraventricular space

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Previous experiments inducing leakage of embryonic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) suggest the necessity of intraventricular CSF pressure (PCSF) for brain morphogenesis. Nevertheless, how embryonic PCSF occurs is unclear, especially in utero. Results Using a Landis water manometer, we measured PCSF in fetal mice isolated from the amniotic

Expression of mutant TIE2 p.L914F during mouse development causes embryonic lethality and defects in vascular remodeling

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sporadic venous malformation (VM) is associated with the hyperactivating p.L914F mutation in TIE2, a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for vascular development. This mutation is not found in hereditary VM, suggesting incompatibility with life when expressed during early vascular development.
