EDUCATIONAL SERIES IN CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE Congenital left-sided heart obstruction

open access: yesEcho Research and Practice, 2018
Congenital obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract remains a significant problem and multilevel obstruction can often coexist. Obstruction can take several morphological forms and may involve the subvalvar, valvar or supravalvar portion of the ...

Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Tachycardias [PDF]

open access: yesArrhythmia, 2015
The right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) is where premature ventricular beats or ventricular tachycardia (VT) arise most frequently. VT arising from the RVOT has unique clinical and electrocardiographic properties, and responds favorably to antiarrhythmic or ablation therapy.

Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Stenting

open access: yes, 2022
RVOT stenting has gained popularity over the last decade. Conventional treatment of choice in children with cyanotic heart defect with decreased pulmonary blood flow has always been the systemic to pulmonary arterial shunt, but lately, many centres are opting for RVOT stenting as the first choice of palliation.

Prenatal diagnosis and clinical pregnancy outcome of fetuses with conotruncal defects in a Chinese cohort

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study aimed to explore genetic etiologies of conotruncal defects (CTDs) in fetuses by analyzing the results of different genetic tests and to assess pregnancy outcomes of fetuses with CTD in a Chinese prenatal cohort. Methods A total of 146 fetuses that underwent invasive prenatal genetic testing for CTD at the prenatal ...

Prevalence and prognostic role of L wave and selected clinical and echocardiographic variables in dogs with atrial fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 47-57, January/February 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Information regarding the frequency of L waves and their prognostic relevance in dogs with secondary atrial fibrillation (AF) is limited. Hypothesis/Objectives To determine whether L waves occur and ascertain their prognostic role, as well as the role of other clinical and echocardiographic variables in dogs with AF.

A Simple and Fast Optical Clearing Method for Whole‐Mount Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) Imaging

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
In this article, we present 3D‐LIMPID‐FISH: a simple and fast optical clearing method for acquiring 3D images of fluorescence in situ hybridization probes. Figures and movies are provided to showcase the technology, and a detailed protocol is provided to replicate the result.

Comparison of echocardiographic measurements and cardiac biomarkers in healthy dogs eating nontraditional or traditional diets

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 37-46, January/February 2023., 2023
Abstract Background There has been a recent association between nontraditional diets and development of diet‐associated dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs. Hypothesis/Objectives To compare echocardiographic measurements and cardiac biomarkers between healthy dogs eating nontraditional vs traditional diets.

Coexistence of Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia and Idiopathic Left Ventricular Outflow-Tract Tachycardia

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2005
Double tachycardia is a relatively rare condition. We describe a 21 year old woman with history of frequent palpitations. In one of these episodes, she had wide complex tachycardia with right bundle branch and inferior axis morphology.
