An experimental medicine protocol for exploring the haemodynamic effects of dual agonism at the glucagon‐like peptide‐1 and glucagon receptor in healthy subjects

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP‐1) and glucagon dual receptor agonists are in clinical development for a range of metabolic conditions, including type 2 diabetes and obesity. The cardiovascular actions at these receptors are well studied, but less is known about their combination.

Neck‐vein thrombosis during spaceflight

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Spaceflight imposes unique environmental challenges, including weightlessness, increased radiation exposure and confinement, which can lead to unexpected health effects. One such example is neck‐vein thrombosis, a condition rarely seen on Earth without predisposing factors such as venous catheters or infections.

A Core Head, Neck, and Neuroanatomy Syllabus for Physical Therapy Student Education

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Head, neck, and neuroanatomy are essential components of physical therapy education due to their broad clinical applications. Detailed syllabi exist for medical students, yet none have been developed for physical therapy. This study aimed to produce an International Federation of Associations of Anatomists core head, neck, and neuroanatomy ...

Intravascular Ultrasound Findings Associated With Hydrodynamic Contrast Recanalization (HDR) of Coronary Chronic Total Occlusions

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Hydrodynamic contrast recanalization (HDR) is a novel technique to facilitate wire crossing during chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). The mechanisms underlying HDR have not been fully described.
