Ventricular Repolarization during Smoking
Cardiology, 200830 healthy individuals and 20 patients suffering from coronary artery disease had orthogonal electrocardiograms taken at rest, after moderate exercise and during smoking. The heart rate increased during smoking to approximately the same level as after exercise.

Anisotropic repolarization in ventricular tissue
American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1997Extracellular recording and stimulation techniques have been used to demonstrate that the effective refractory period of epicardial ventricular cells is significantly influenced by the sequence of activation. Whether myocardial fiber orientation is also important in determining the repolarization process is unclear.

The T wave and ventricular repolarization
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1964Abstract A detailed analysis of the genesis of the T wave comparable to that provided for a QRS complex cannot be obtained by means of direct recording of ventricular repolarization. This is mainly because of the low voltage, the slow time-course and the absence of a uniform conduction during repolarization.

The effect of ventricular depolarization on the sequence of ventricular repolarization
American Heart Journal, 1967Abstract The pathway of depolarization of the ventricular myocardium was changed by a single pulse which stimulated the entire ventricular myocardium. The T wave following the stimulus was recorded and compared to T waves following a normal ventricular depolarization. It was found that when the QRS was not lengthened the T wave following the stimulus

Dialysis‐Dependent Changes in Ventricular Repolarization
Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2012Background: Epidemiological data suggest increased risk of sudden death during and immediately after hemodialysis. Microvolt T‐wave alternans (mTWA) is an electrocardiogram (ECG) measure of abnormal ventricular repolarization, which can be used in sudden death risk stratification. The aim of this study was to determine

Impaired Ventricular Repolarization Dynamics in Patients with Early Repolarization Syndrome
Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2013QT Dynamics in Early Repolarization SyndromeIntroductionAlmost all current investigations on early repolarization syndrome (ERS) have focused on the J‐wave characteristics and ST‐segment configuration; however, few have reported on ventricular repolarization indexes in ERS.Methods and ResultsA total of 145 subjects were enrolled: 10 ERS patients, 45 ...

The Role of HCN Channels in Ventricular Repolarization
Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2011Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide gated (HCN) channels pass a cationic current (I(h)/I(f)) that crucially contributes to the slow diastolic depolarization (SDD) of sinoatrial pacemaker cells and, hence, is a key determinant of cardiac automaticity and the generation of the heartbeat.

Changes in autonomic activity and ventricular repolarization
Journal of Electrocardiology, 1999An increase in sympathetic activity, manifested by shortening of RR intervals (RRi) and changes in RRi variability, precedes and possibly triggers ventricular tachyarrhythmias (VTAs) by altering repolarization. We examined the effects of autonomic activity on the projection of repolarization as detected by body surface potential maps (BSPMs).

Dispersion of ventricular repolarization in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Journal of Electrocardiology, 1996On an averaged QRS-T cycle from a 15-lead record (12-lead electrocardiogram + XYZ leads) and through interactive editing, four electrocardiographic indices of the dispersion of ventricular repolarization (DVR) are automatically computed and represent the maximal interlead difference of QT and JTend and QT and JTapex.

Sequence of repolarization on the ventricular surface in the dog
American Heart Journal, 1975Abstract Our study provides a reasonably detailed “repolarization map” of the ventricular surface in the dog heart. The approximately constant repolarization slope of all MAP's on the surface supports the validity of the assumption that the sequence of ventricular repolarization can be derived from the sequence of refractoriness.
