Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia and cardiac arrest from abiraterone-induced hypokalemia: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports
Background Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (PMVT) is an unstable and often fatal cardiac tachyarrhythmia. While there are many causes of this rhythm, including electrolyte imbalances, ischemia, and genetic disorders, iatrogenic etiologies are ...

A minimal electrical model of the human heart [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We develop a minimal whole-heart model that describes cardiac electrical conduction and simulate a basic three-lead electrocardiogram (ECG). We compare our 3-lead ECG model with clinical data from a database of Norwegian athletes. The results demonstrate a strong correlation with the ECGs recorded for these athletes.

Epicardial ventricular tachycardia

open access: yesTurk Kardiyoloji Dernegi Arsivi-Archives of the Turkish Society of Cardiology, 2013
In ventricular tachycardia (VT) arising in the myocardial tissue, the site of origin may be the endocardium, mid-myocardium or epicardium. The incidence of epicardial origin varies with the underlying heart disease, and is probably not more than 20% in ischemic heart disease and higher in non-ischemic cardiomyopathies. PROPAFENONE, A NEW EFFECTIVE ANTIARRHYTHMIC DRUG. REPORT OF 2 YEARS CLINICAL EXPERIMENT WITH PROPAFENONE (WITH BRIEF REVIEW OF ARTICLES) [PDF]

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 1986
Propafenone HCI (p), is a relatively new Class IC antiarrhythmic agent. It has been reported to be superior to conventional antiarrhythmics in the control of supraventricular, ventricular and WPW associated tachyarrhythmias.
