This Mendelian randomization study reveals that normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) causally leads to lower levels of the neurotrophins CNTF and GDNF. This finding provides new genetic evidence for the role of neurotrophic factors in NPH, suggesting potential avenues for further research into prevention and treatment strategies.

ABSTRACT The FGFR2 gene, encoding the FGFR2 protein, plays a crucial role in embryonic cell development, particularly in bone tissue. Bent Bone Dysplasia (BBD), FGFR2‐related (MIM# 614592), is a rare severe skeletal dysplasia characterized by craniofacial differences, reduced bone mineral density, and bowed long bones.

ABSTRACT Background Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytomas (PXAs) are rare primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors that appear heterogeneous on imaging and histology and typically cause headaches or seizures on initial presentation. Alongside high rates of favorable prognosis after surgical excision exist similarly high rates of recurrence.

Scrotal migration of ventriculoperitoneal shunts [PDF]
Ventriculoperitoneal diversion of cerebrospinal fluid in infants and children with hydrocephalus has become the procedure of choice over the last 15 years. It has replaced ventriculoatrial shunts, resulting in a marked decrease in the complication rate after such procedures.

Abstract Objective Stereoelectroencephalography (sEEG) is commonly employed in the workup for epilepsy surgery in patients with focal drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE). Intracranial hemorrhage is a known complication, with reported incidence rates ranging from .9% to 19.1%. Rarely, pseudoaneurysms have been reported in literature as a potential cause. This

ABSTRACT Introduction The neurodevelopmental outcome of ‘Cystic’ malformations of the posterior fossa with marked opening of the fourth ventricle, such as Dandy Walker malformation (DWM) and large Blake's pouch cyst (BPC), is a major issue. This study aimed to refine relevant MRI criteria for distinguishing DWM from BPC and identify prognostic factors.
