Ultrasonic Ventriculostomy Stylet
Neurosurgery, 1995I describe my design for a ventriculostomy stylet fitted with a phase array ultrasonic imaging device in its tip. Theoretically, this would allow identification of the ventricles and their exact location at the bedside, without the need for expensive stereotactic equipment.

Terminal ventriculostomy in syringomyelia
Acta Neurochirurgica, 1979The authors report their experiences with two patients suffering from syringomyelia on whom terminal ventriculostomies were carried out. The good results which can be obtained if the patient is in a relatively good neurological condition are pointed out.

Journal of Neurosurgery, 1977✓ The clinical course of 12 patients who underwent terminal ventriculostomy for syringomyelia is presented. Opening the central canal at the tip of the conus medullaris is a relatively benign procedure that improves the symptoms of syringomyelia and syringobulbia.

Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy for Hydrocephalus
min - Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, 1999The authors report on 125 patients who underwent endoscopic third ventriculostomy for obstructive hydrocephalus in three Italian Neurosurgical Centers. The series includes 77 cases of primary aqueductal stenosis, 33 with triventricular hydrocephalus due to external tumor compression, and 15 with tetraventricular hydrocephalus.
