Preparation of nanodispersions by solvent displacement using the Venturi tube
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2018The Venturi tube (VT) is an apparatus that produces turbulence which is taken advantage of to produce nanoparticles (NP) by solvent displacement. The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of this device for preparing NP of poly-ε-caprolactone.

The practice on DN1400mm Venturi tubes
Flow Measurement and Instrumentation, 1998Abstract In order to meet the requirement presented by a water supply company to measure the flow rate in the pipes with a very large diameter, Kaifeng Instrument Factory, China, manufactured 13 sets of D N 1400 mm classical Venturi tubes in 1982 and 1992, respectively.

On the Use of Venturi Tubes in Aeration
CLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, 2007AbstractThe ecological quality of water depends largely on the amount of oxygen that the water can hold. The higher the level of dissolved oxygen, the better the quality of a water system. By measuring dissolved oxygen, scientists determine the quality of water and health of an ecosystem. Oxygen enters water by entrainment of air bubbles.

Enhanced sensitivity magnetoresistor with a venturi-tube shape
10th IEEE International NEWCAS Conference, 2012Split-contact magnetoresistors (SCMs) are Hall effect sensors based on the current deflection effect of the magnetic field. We developed a simulation model of Hall sensors, including SCM, in COMSOL Multiphysics considering the transport mechanisms of diffusion and drift. We can simulate devices with a quite arbitrary shape.

Bubble Breakup Phenomena in a Venturi Tube
Volume 1: Symposia, Parts A and B, 2007Microbubble generation techniques have been proposed in former investigations. Here, we study an effective technique using air bubbly flow into a convergent-divergent nozzle (venturi tube). Pressure change in the diverging section induces bubble breakup.

A Low-cost Venturi Tube Spirometer for the Diagnosis of COPD
TENCON 2018 - 2018 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2018The paper presents the design methodology and implementation of a low-cost spirometer prototype that can detect pulmonary diseases. By sensing the pressure difference of the expiratory air passing through the 3D printed venturi tube, the system calculates forced vital capacity (FVC).

Noise attenuation by Venturi tubes
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994The reactive silencers installed in the induction and exhaust systems of production vehicles involve a compromise between the noise reduction and the flow efficiency. The present study considers venturi tubes as low flow-loss elements and investigates their acoustic attenuation performance in terms of two approaches: the first one combines the ...

Pressure losses in a conduit with a venturi tube
Journal of Engineering Physics, 1969We present the experimental relationships for the coefficient of kinetic flow energy and static pressure as a function of conduit length following a Venturi tube. A formula is proposed for the determination of the coefficient of the hydraulic resistance of the Venturi tube as a function of its structural parameters, as well as a function of the length ...
