Puffy Venuses: The Mass–Radius Impact of Carbon-rich Atmospheres on Lava Worlds
The recent advancements in exoplanet observations enable the potential detection of exo-Venuses, rocky planets with carbon-rich atmospheres. How extended these atmospheres can be, given high carbon abundances, has not been studied.

The Painterly Materiality of Clouds in Antony and Cleopatra and Hamlet
Abstract This article examines the cloud‐gazing scenes in Antony and Cleopatra and Hamlet through the lens of early modern artistic theory and material practices, particularly the art of limning. Building upon existing philosophical and poetic interpretations of Shakespearean clouds as metaphors for ephemerality and memory, the essay argues that the ...

The thermosphere and ionosphere of Venus [PDF]
Our knowledge of the upper atmosphere and ionosphere of Venus and its interaction with the solar wind has advanced dramatically over the last decade, largely due to the data obtained during the Pioneer Venus mission and to the theoretical work that was ...

Reconstructing the Geometry of a Hot Flow Anomaly With Bounding Jets in Magnetosheath
Abstract When interplanetary magnetic field discontinuities interact with planetary bow shocks, hot flow anomalies (HFAs) form in the solar wind and can extend into the magnetosheath. Here we reconstruct the three‐dimensional geometry of an HFA bounded by two jet regions in the terrestrial magnetosheath.

Mixed-valence iron minerals on Venus: Fe(2+)-Fe(3+) oxides and oxy-silicates formed by surface-atmosphere interactions [PDF]
Inferences from these investigations are that Fe(3+)-bearing minerals such as hematite magnesioferrite, acmite, and epidote are thermodynamically unstable, and that magnetite is the predominant mixed-valence iron oxide mineral on venus.

Laser Ablation Sampling With Low‐Power Plasma: A LA‐MIP‐MS Instrument for Spaceflight
ABSTRACT Rationale Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) is a commonly used ion source for mass spectrometry‐based chemical analysis of a wide range of materials. Traditional ICP ion sources use high power (> 1000 W) and significant gas flow (> 10 L/min), rendering them unsuitable for spaceflight, as they are too resource‐intensive for planetary spacecraft.
