Tigers on the Move: The Impact of Climate Change on Tiger Distribution in Nepal

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
The impact of climate on tigers' habitat in Nepal in 2050, 2070, and 2090. The results indicates that tiger habitat will shifts outside protected area in future. ABSTRACT The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), a flagship and umbrella species of the South Asian forest ecosystem, has declined dramatically in population and geographic distribution due

The Linnaean revolution – A history of the Natural System

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 5, Page 1011-1034, October 2025.
Abstract A very brief history of the Natural System (NS) is presented, focusing on angiosperms. The account is divided into four parts. The first, “Setting the stage”, gives an outline of my understanding of evolutionary ontology and how this reflects on taxonomy.

Bats respond positively to local drainage ditch vegetation and forest amount in the broader landscape in a North American agroecosystem

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2025.
Using automated ultrasonic recorders, we assessed bat species richness and activity across agricultural drainage ditches that varied in mean vegetation height, variability in vegetation height, and mean width, as well as forest amount, distance to forest, and mean field size at the landscape scale in agroecosystems in eastern Ontario, Canada.

Electro-optic polymers for high speed modulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Different electro-optic polymer systems are analyzed with respect to their electro-optic activity, glass transition temperature (Tg) and photodefinable properties. The polymers tested are polysulfone (PS) and polycarbonate (PC).

Diversification patterns of the southwest Australian biodiversity hotspot reveal a novel macroevolutionary pathway to plant hyperdiversity

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 248, Issue 2, Page 953-967, October 2025.
Summary The macroevolutionary drivers for disparities in plant species richness across Australia are understudied, hindered by lack of densely sampled comparative phylogenetic data. Here, we address this gap by analysing plant diversification dynamics and quantifying macroevolutionary trajectories of 22 plant clades (4289 species in 14 families) across

Electrochemistry of potential bioreductive alkylating quinones : Part 2. Electrochemical properties of 2,5-bis(1-aziridinyl)-3,6-bis(ethoxycarbonylamino)-1,4-benzoquinone and some model compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The reduction mechanism of 2,5-bis(1-aziridinyl)-3,6-bis(ethoxycarbonylamino)-1,4-benzoquinone (Diaziquone, AZQ) and several model compounds of the mono- and bis(1-aziridinyl)quinone type at the dropping mercury electrode in aqueous solutions was studied.

Designing a Climate Change Resilient Landscape Connectivity Network From a Multi‐Species Perspective

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
We assessed connectivity requirements for 15 species associated with upland and limestone habitats in England and identified climate change mediated shifts: currently showing concentrations of connectivity flows in the far south of England and the northern Pennines; and with the landscape becoming more permeable by 2050 and on to 2090.

Landscape and Season Influence Bat Activity and Richness in a Mediterranean Metropolitan Area

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
Urbanization strongly shapes bat communities, yet Mediterranean cities remain understudied. We investigated how landscape composition, artificial illumination, and seasonality affect bat activity and richness in Naples, Italy, using passive acoustic monitoring across a gradient of urban green space and fragmentation.

No evidence of the effect of extreme weather events on annual occurrence of four groups of ectothermic species.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Weather extremes may have strong effects on biodiversity, as known from theoretical and modelling studies. Predicted negative effects of increased weather variation are found only for a few species, mostly plants and birds in empirical studies. Therefore,

Older Lineages of Vascular Plants in Wetlands Dominate in Habitats That Are More Ubiquitous Across the Region: A Case Study in Southern Africa

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2025.
Wetlands are dominated by different lineages of vascular plants in different habitats. ABSTRACT Vascular plants that presently grow and often dominate wetland habitats are mostly derived from ancestors adapted to dry terrestrial environments. We hypothesize that recently evolved wetland lineages dominate more challenging or novel wetland environments ...
