Vergence: an evaluation

Journal of Structural Geology, 1981
Abstract Fold asymmetry is an independent concept distinct from facing. Fold vergence is a direction relating to the sense of asymmetry of folds. The complementary concept of cleavage vergence is defined allowing asymmetry to be used to locate major fold traces where no minor folds exist.

The Nature of Vergence Revealed by Electromyography

A.M.A. Archives of Ophthalmology, 1957
This paper is one of a series of studies in vergence investigated by means of electromyography, parts of which have been previously reported. 1,2 The present study is concerned with accommodative and fusional vergence. The technique has been fully described in previous reports.

HEINE'S PRINCIPLE IN VERGENCE STIMULATION

American journal of optometry and physiological optic, 1980
Abstract When left and right pairs of vertical parallel lines are presented stereoscopically with some disparity, they fuse so that they are perceived as a single pair of lines separated in depth. Heine showed that when such line pairs are rotated about the lines of sight in the same direction and by equal amounts from the vertical ...

Fusional Vergence

Optometry and Vision Science, 1980
ABSTRACT There is evidence to suggest that fusional vergence acts as a two‐stage process consisting of fusion‐initiating and fusion‐sustaining components. The interrelationship of these components was examined by comparing the amplitude of disparity‐induced vergence over the operating range of sustained fusional ...
