Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Verifiable Computation in Practice: Tools and Protocols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Verifiable computation (VC) protocols enable clients to outsource computations to untrusted servers in the cloud without compromising the integrity of the computation.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

New (Zero-Knowledge) Arguments and Their Applications to Verifiable Computation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We study the problem of argument systems, where a computationally weak verifier outsources the execution of a computation to a powerful but untrusted prover, while being able to validate that the result was computed correctly through a proof generated by

Shorter lattice-based verifiable encryption using bimodal Gaussian

open access: yesCybersecurity
Verifiable encryption enables the decryption to be taken on properly generated ciphertexts, by making the encryptor provide a zero-knowledge proof. To meet the quantum-safe application requirements, such as key escrow, Lyubashevsky et al.

A Verifiable Sealed-Bid Multi-Qualitative-Attribute Based Auction Scheme in the Semi-Honest Model

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Recently, several privacy-preserving auction schemes are proposed for protecting the bid privacy and securing the auction. In this paper, a sealed-bid auction scheme focusing on multi-attribute is presented.

Algebraic computation, numerical computation and verified inclusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The three different types of computation - the algebraic manipulation, the numerical computation and the computation of verified results - are aiming on different problems and deliver qualitatively different results, each method having its specific advantages for specific classes of problems.

Context-Aware Verifiable Cloud Computing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Internet of Things (IoTs) has emerged to motivate various intelligent applications based on the data collected by various “things.” Cloud computing plays an important role for big data processing by providing data computing and processing services.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
