A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Asymmetry of the Ferroelectric Phase Transition in BaTiO3

Phase transitions are typically assumed to behave identically in forward and reverse. This work shows that in the ferroelectric material barium titanate this is not true: heating drives an abrupt, first‐order jump, while cooling gives a smooth, continuous change.

Laser‐Synthesized Amorphous PdSe2‐x Nanoparticles: A Defect‐Rich Platform for High‐Efficiency SERS, Photocatalysis, and Photothermal Conversion

Using femtosecond ablation, we show that an ordered, stoichiometric crystalline PdSe2 target can be controllably converted into a stable, disordered, non‐stoichiometric, and highly functional amorphous nanomaterial, PdSe2−x${\rm PdSe}_{2-x}$. High‐Performance, Paper‐Based Microelectronics via a Micromodular Fabrication Process

This study demonstrates high‐performance silicon micromodular transistors on cellulose nanomaterial‐coated paper, with interconnects formed via e‐jet printing. Transistors exhibit excellent electrical properties and maintain performance under applied strain.
