Transform Coefficient Coding for Screen Content in Versatile Video Coding (VVC) [PDF]
A transform coefficient coding scheme is proposed for 4 × 4 blocks in Versatile Video Coding (VVC), targeting screen content applications. The proposed algorithm, called Unary Bitplane Coding (UBC), uses unary codes of the coefficient amplitudes and represents each block by their bitplanes.

An efficient geometric partitioning mode by adaptive blending method for screen content coding
Three geometric partitioning mode (GPM) matrices are proposed for screen content coding in addition to the original GPM matrix of Versatile Video Coding. Furthermore, the efficient GPM is proposed that implicitly determines one of the four GPM matrices depending on the coding unit characteristics.
