Review on the Versatility of Tungsten Oxide Coatings

open access: yesPhysica Status Solidi (a), 2019
Tungsten oxide is a versatile material with many advantages such as large availability and low fabrications costs. Additionally, it is suitable to be produced in the form of thin films or coatings, which makes it very attractive for many applications. In

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

Diversity, versatility and complexity of bacterial gene regulation mechanisms: opportunities and drawbacks for applications in synthetic biology

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Reviews, 2019
Gene expression occurs in two essential steps: transcription and translation. In bacteria, the two processes are tightly coupled in time and space, and highly regulated. Tight regulation of gene expression is crucial.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Enhanced squeezing with parity kicks

open access: yes, 2009
Using exponential quadratic operators, we present a general framework for studying the exact dynamics of system-bath interaction in which the Hamiltonian is described by the quadratic form of bosonic operators.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Changes in the biotechnological potential of potatoes during storage

open access: yesНовые технологии
The influence of the traditional method of storing potato varieties, namely Gala, Colombo, Red Scarlett, grown in the Southern Federal District, on its biotechnological potential was studied. It was determined that in the tubers of the Gala varieties the

Entanglement analysis of isotropic spin-1 chains

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate entanglement spectra of the SO(3) bilinear-biquadratic spin-1 chain, a model with phases exhibiting spontaneous symmetry breaking (both translation and spin rotation), points of enlarged symmetry, and a symmetry-protected topological phase

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Analytical performance evaluation of the H100 lifotronic system for HBA1c measurement and hemoglobin fraction analysis

open access: yesBatna Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is a key biomarker for the diagnosis and long-term monitoring of diabetes mellitus. However, its measurement may be affected by hemoglobin variants and quantitative abnormalities, highlighting the need for ...
