AbstractRotary subluxation of the atlantoaxial joint is an uncommon complication of head and neck surgery and infections. Reported sequelae of this disorder range from torticollis to death from compression of the spinal cord. Two cases of C1‐C2 rotary subluxation will be discussed.

Coronally cleft vertebra

One hundred and twenty-five cases of coronally cleft vertebrae are reviewed with reference to the sex incidence and the level of the affected vertebrae. Cleft vertebrae were seen once in every 150 antenatal radiographic examinations. Eighty four per cent of affected vertebrae were lumbar. A male-female ratio of 3:1 was found.
