Toward Enhancing Chiro‐Optical and Magneto‐Optical Properties of Magnetic Nanocrystals by Surface Plasmons

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Here, recent progress is highlighted in colloidal magnetoplasmonic hybrid nanomaterials, with a focus on chiral plasmonics. Metal nanocrystals with intrinsic chiroptical features can lead to a combination of chiral plasmonics and magneto‐optics effects when interacting with the magnetic counterpart, offering a foundation for systematically designing ...

Evolution of Collective, Radiative Plasmon Coupling in Confined, Soft Colloidal Films

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmon resonance coupling is continuously monitored during the uniaxial manipulation of a 2‐dimensional soft colloidal film containing hexagonally arranged spherical gold nanocrystals. This is realized by the in situ spectroscopic investigation of a monolayer of plasmonic core‐shell microgels confined at the air/water interface that is compressed in a

Supraballs Composed of Mie‐Resonant Silicon Nanospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Spherical supraballs composed of Mie‐resonant silicon nanospheres are developed through an emulsion‐templated self‐assembly process. By systematically varying constituent silicon nanosphere size and interparticle spacing—both statically through oxidation and dynamically using thermoresponsive shells—the reflection color and intensity of the supraballs ...

Vibrational Strong Coupling of Thin Water Layers Using Plasmonic Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The high electric field concentration of plasmonic modes in nanogroove array cavities enables vibrational strong coupling with ultrathin water layers located directly at the metal surface, opening up a new potential pathway for tuning electrocatalytic reactions.

Enhancing Organic Light‐Emitting Diode Performance Using Naturally Derived Diatomite: A Cost‐Effective and Eco‐Friendly Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Diatomite‐based light extraction structures enable enhanced photon outcoupling through multi‐angle scattering and far‐field redistribution. By harnessing the unique scattering behavior of diatomite, this approach introduces randomly oriented scattering centers that effectively reshape internal light propagation.
