Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Non-Invasive Low Cost Method for Linear and Angular Accelerations Measurement in Biped Locomotion Mechanism

open access: yes, 2011
International audienceA new non-invasive low cost method for accelerations measurement in biped locomotion mechanisms is presented. The aim is to measure all the joint accelerations of the locomotion system during the walking that is difficult because of

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Lagrangian accelerations in geostrophic turbulence.

open access: yes, 1998
International audienceA distinctive property of Lagrangian accelerations in geostrophic turbulence is that they are governed by the large and intermediate scales of the flow, both in time and space, so that the inertial part of the dynamics plays a much ...

Radiative accelerations in stars: The effect of Zeeman splitting

open access: yes, 2002
The influence of Zeeman splitting on radiative accelerations of chemical elements in stellar atmospheres permeated by magnetic fields with strengths of up to a few Tesla has for the first time been investigated in detail taking into account magneto-

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Effects of Vertical Seismic Accelerations on Slope Displacements

open access: yes, 2001
The behaviour of earth slopes under seismic conditions can be effectively studied by evaluating the suffered displacements, which are key parameters in the recent performance design approaches (Pianc/PTCII/WG34, 2001).

Experimental and Numerical Modal Analysis of Composite Sandwich Structures Using Surfboards as Model Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...
