Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Horizontal and Vertical Wind Measurements from GOCE Angular Accelerations
Because of the highly accurate accelerometers, the GOCE mission has proven to be a unique source of thermosphere neutral density and cross-wind data. In the current methods, in which only the horizontal linear accelerations are used, the vertical winds ...

Comparative Analysis of Axlebox Accelerations in Correlation with Track Geometry Irregularities
Stochastic track irregularities influence additional dynamic forces developed in the vehicle-track interaction that lead to faster deterioration of track.

Flow Evolution and Vertical Accelerations in Wave‐Swash Interactions
Abstract We report on a laboratory study of wave‐swash interactions, which occur in the very nearshore environment of a beach when the shallow swash flow of a breaking wave interacts with a subsequent wave. Wave‐swash interactions have been observed in the field, hypothesized to be important for nearshore transport processes, and ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

The precursory acceleration of deformation is widely validated as a method for predicting the failure time. Damage evolution inside rocks generally results in complex strain patterns in the vicinity of failure and various responses of deformation in ...

Dynamic analysis of elevated viaducts of Doha metro green line
The 2.7 kilometers double track elevated viaducts of Doha metro green line, currently under construction, consist of cast-in-situ and precast segmental simply supported spans ranging from 20 to 35 m and continuous cast-insitu two and three spans (30-57 m)

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Raw acceleration can be used as a proxy measure representing external forces experienced at the hip. Peak vertical acceleration at the hip was measured (ActiGraph GT3X+ - BT) in 30 premenopausal women during common exercises (walking, running, stairs and
