Holocene sea‐level and environmental changes on the Isle of Mull, Scotland

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sea‐level and coastal changes are reconstructed on the Isle of Mull, western Scotland, from 10 988 to 10 507 cal BP to the present. This research has produced the first SLIP for the Isle of Mull. A multiproxy approach including pollen, spore, foraminifera and diatom analyses reveals palaeoenvironmental changes from two coastal sites.

Evaluation of W0 in Canada using tide gauges and GOCE gravity field models

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2012
The existing Canadian Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1928 (CGVD28) does not meet the needs of the modern user in terms of accuracy and accessibility.

Analisis Pasang Surut Air Laut Menggunakan Data Ioc (Intergovermental Oceanographic Comission) Untuk Menentukan Chart Datum Di Perairan Cilacap [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The tidal seas is the changing of sea water height caused by the attractive force happen between the earth and the space objects. The moon and the sun have the biggest influence on the tidal seas phenomenon.

Holocene palaeoenvironmental reconstruction of sea level, coastal and vegetation changes along the southern Solway Firth, United Kingdom

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Holocene relative sea level (RSL) changes were reconstructed from four sites along the less‐studied southern Solway Firth. A multiproxy approach, including lithostratigraphical and biostratigraphical analyses, combined with radiocarbon dating, produced ten sea level index points (SLIPs).

Evaluation of the geopotential value W0LVD of China

open access: yesGeodesy and Geodynamics, 2017
Estimation of the zero-height geopotential value W0LVD for the CVD (China Vertical Datum) plays a fundamental role in the connection of traditional height reference systems into a global height system.

REPLACING NAVD88: THE EFFECTS OF VERTICAL DATUM MODERNIZATION ON COASTAL ENGINEERING

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 2018
The United States (US) National Geodetic Survey (NGS) will be replacing the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) with the North American-Pacific Geopotential Datum of 2022 (NAPGD2022).

Benefits of a 3D geological model for major tunnelling works : an example from Farringdon, east-central London, UK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In the design of major construction works, the better the ground conditions are known, the more control there is on the assessment of risks for construction, contract and personnel, and ultimately on final costs. Understanding of the ground conditions is

A twofold development and demise of pine stands in the Netherlands during the Allerød interstadial: two hypotheses to explain a link to climate change recorded in Greenland ice

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The second half of the Allerød interstadial in the Netherlands is characterised by pine forest. Excavated trunks of 165 pine trees at Leusden‐Den Treek in the central Netherlands (LETR16) were dated by dendrochronology and radiocarbon. Two chronologically separated pine forest phases occurred during relatively warm periods as recorded in ...

Dynamically and economically updating the National Elevation Datum with the assistance of InSAR: A case study in North China Plain

open access: yesGeodesy and Geodynamics
Land subsidence significantly impacts the accuracy of the National Elevation Datum in China. In order to solve this issue, a dynamic and economical way was proposed to update the National Elevation Datum with the assistance of InSAR in the North China ...

New solutions for the geoid potential W0 and the Mean Earth Ellipsoid dimensions

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2013
Earth Gravitational Models (EGMs) describe the Earth’s gravity field including the geoid, except for its zero-degree harmonic, which is a scaling parameter that needs a known geometric distance for its calibration. Today this scale can be provided by the
