Methods for determining deflections of the vertical on a moving base

Gyroscopy and Navigation, 2016
The basic methods for determining deflections of the vertical on a moving base are considered. The classification criteria of these methods are proposed. The comparative analysis of the methods has been performed based on the proposed criteria.

Deflections of the vertical in New Britain

Eos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1957
Nineteen astronomic observations made in connection with a control survey by Australian and U. S. Army topographic forces of the island of New Britain (Territory of Papua and New Guinea) indicate unusually large deflections of the vertical throughout the 450 km length of the island. After adjusting the datum to minimize the deflections, the rms of ξ is ±

On the absolute deflection of the vertical at Potsdam

Bulletin géodésique, 1954
After a numerical comparison of geoidal surfaces, the author finds confirmed the values of the deflection of the vertical at Potsdam, as given by ProfessorLedersteger. These values should, however, not be considered as definitive before the value determined by means of the profile of the gravimetrically obtained geoid, will be in sufficient agreement ...

Deflections of the vertical in the high tatras

Studia Geophysica et Geodaetica, 1965

Improvements in the computation of deflections of the vertical by FFT

Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, 1998
Abstract Deflections of the vertical are computed by the effective FFT method using the Vening Meinesz integral formula in spherical convolution form. The gravimetric deflection components are compared with those derived by the planar FFT techniques as well as with observed astrogeodetic components in order to assess the improvements, in terms of ...

New Transformerless Vertical Deflection Systems

IEEE Transactions on Broadcast and Television Receivers, 1970
A current drive transformerless vertical deflection system is presented. The system employes a constant current source and variable current source with a complementary current amplifier output to function as a bidirectional current source.

Vertical Deflection Monitoring of Main Girder

2018
Long-span bridges play an important role in the people’s daily life and transportation. It is necessary to establish a reliable health monitoring system to maintain the function and safety of long-span bridges. In long-span bridges, monitoring of the vertical deflection under the actual traffic loads is not only crucial to ensure the overall ...

Gravimetrically computed deflections of the vertical in Ohio

Eos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1954
Deflections of the vertical were computed for five points over a range of 100 km in central Ohio, using free‐air anomalies out to 1500 km and isostatic anomalies, with corrections, for the rest of the Earth. For ξ at all five points, and for η at three mints, agreement with the astronomically observed deflections was obtained to within 0.″67; errors in

Vertical Deflection of Buried Flexible Pipes

1990
For over 50 years, studies of soil-pipe interaction have provided methods to predict vertical deflection of buried flexible pipes. Several of these methods are widely used in standards. However, these methods do not account for many of the recognized parameters that affect buried pipe behavior.

A Method to Determine Increments of Vertical Deflections

1991
The anomalous gravity vector is determined by Inertial Survey Systems (ISS) using measurements of the velocity errors in ZUPT points. These errors are caused by the simultaneous action of the instrument errors of the ISS (accelerometer error, gyroscopic drift, etc.), the misalignment errors and the gravitational model errors due to the anomalous ...
