Precast reinforced concrete (RC) girders with dapped ends are used in order to reduce the overall depths of concrete floors and bridge decking and meet architectural requirements. The structural requirements by reducing the depths of these girders result

GNSS-Based Verticality Monitoring of Super-Tall Buildings
In the construction of super-tall buildings, it is rather important to control the verticality. In general, a laser plummet is used to transmit coordinates of reference points from the ground layer-by-layer, which can effectively control the verticality ...

Modern Determination of Vertical Deflections Using Digital Zenith Cameras [PDF]
At the beginning of the 21st century, a significant technological change took place in geodetic astronomy. In Zurich and Hannover, digital zenith camera systems were developed based on digital imaging sensors (charge-coupled device) that strongly ...

On the determination of the deflection of the vertical by satellite altimetry
Abstract With the advent of satellite altimetry it has become possible to estimate the height of the marine geoid above the ellipsoid to an accuracy of better than 1 m. At a crossover of a satellite's ascending and descending tracks, altimeter data can be used to obtain two linearly independent estimates of the geoid's horizontal gradient.

Finite element analysis of reinforced concrete curved box-girder bridges
The study presents the design forces of simply supported single-cell reinforced concrete (RC) curved box-girder bridges using a finite element method (FEM) based CSiBridge v.20 software.

Modelling of reinforced concrete slab deflections at service loading [PDF]
Includes bibliographical references.Deflection under service loading is an important aspect of reinforced concrete slab design. Under-design can cause large deflections which can be expensive to repair, if at all possible.

Using the rapid graphic method in determining the vertical deflections in High Tatras [PDF]
In mountains regions, the effect of vertical deflections appreciably exceeds the accuracy of most geodetic measurements and causes systematic errors of some cm per km at steep sightings.

ESTIMATION OF VERTICAL DEFLECTIONS IN CONCRETE BEAMS THROUGH DIGITAL CLOSE RANGE PHOTOGRAMMETRY [PDF]
Deformation monitoring, and in general structural health monitoring, of civil infrastructure systems is important in terms of both safety and serviceability. Traditionally, large structures have been monitored using surveying techniques, while fine-scale
